Littleborough to Hebden Bridge. (Up North!) 10.3 miles

As the Pen y fan walk won’t be taking place this year, it has been decided to organise a Northern walk as a way of continuing to raise much needed funds for the Association.

The walk will go from Littleborough to Hebden Bridge along the tow path of the Leeds – Liverpool canal. As it’s a tow path, the route is almost flat and the total distance is about 10.3 miles.

The planned start is adjacent to Littleborough train station, and will commence at 1100 hours. The train line runs parallel to the canal all the way to Hebden Bridge. Along the walk there are train stations at Walsden and Todmorden which are 4 and 5.5 miles from Littleborough respectively. So if the full walk is too much, you can simply catch the train back to your car at Littleborough. Trains run every 25 – 30 minutes.

Trains to Littleborough also run from both Manchester (30 mins) and Leeds (1 hour).

There are car parks / parking places near to the start.

There are a number of B & B’s in both Littleborough & Hebden Bridge.

If you are interested in taking part you can either download a sponsorship form or contact the SAMA office.  Further information can be obtained by e mailing
