Brands Hatch Track Day

The Not Forgotten Association have kindly invited 4 of our members in receipt of a War Pension or equivalent, to join them for a day’s track racing at Brands Hatch on Thursday 31st July 2014.

This will include an overnight stay at the Brands Hatch Thistle Hotel.

Professional Racing Drivers look forward to driving you around the track throughout the day.

18th SAMA 82 AGM & Reunion Weekend 2015

The 18th AGM and Reunion weekend will be held on the weekend of Friday 27th March 2015 – Monday 30th March 2015 at the Hilton Hotel, Swindon.

Various packages are available at the hotel including 3, 2 & 1 Half Board stays, and Gala Dinner/AGM only.

Please book early to avoid disappointment.

On Sunday 29th March, there will be a Church Service held at The Falklands Chapel, Pangbourne.  After the Church Service, there is the opportunity to enjoy a buffet lunch (£10) after which the busses will return to the hotel.

New Chairman for SAMA 82

Following the AGM last weekend, the new Chairman for SAMA 82 was elected.

Gordon Mather MM was a member of Special Forces in 1982.  He joined SAMA in 2000 and has played an active role in the Association for the past few years having been the Sponsor for firstly the Indulgence and then the Concessionary Flight Scheme.  He also lead the 2012 Pilgrimage.

Gordon became a Trustee for SAMA in 2012.

Blind Veterans UK–Ride for Life Beyond Sight Loss

On Saturday 26th July 2014, there will be a charity motor cycle ride from Llandudno in Wales to Ovingdean in Brighton in support of Blind Veterans UK.

There will be an opportunity to camp in Llandudno so you can be fresh for the 8.00 am start.  Travel will mainly be on A roads.

The route will include:

First stop at Crossgates Cafe Express. Llandrindod Wells, where you can also join the ride

Second stop at Sainsburys service station and truck stop in Swindon (again you can join in here)

The last stop and last joining point will be Petersfield Services.

The last leg of the journey will travel along Brighton sea front towards Ovingdean.

At the finish you will be treated to a hog roast roll or veggie option.  There will also be the opportunity to camp before travelling home.
