Amendments to Membership Rules

6 Jul

Trustees tested the views of those who attended the Open Forum at the AGM weekend.  They were pleased to see total support for the change in rules to ensure that medal winners from the period 14th June 1982 to 21 October 1982 be admitted to full membership on receipt of their medal and application.

Trustees considered the implications at the Trustees meeting on 30th April 2015.  The trustees decided that rule change would have no implication for the rights and obligations of existing full members and therefore the changes could be implemented as soon as possible.

The new rules have now been approved and all new medal holders can expect to be given full membership on qualification and application.  Those medal holders who were awarded temporary associate membership will be automatically transferred to the full membership list without further application.

The trustees extend a warm welcome to all new members.

SAMA attended Armed Forces Events

3 Jul

SAMA 82 has attended local and national events throughout June.

Member Pete McWatt put on a display at Scarborough and paraded the standard there.  He met with current members and signed up a few more.  He had a very successful fund raising day.

Members Kevin Greathurst and Antony Chambers put on a great display at Weymouth and with Kevin MacDonald covered the national event in Guildford.  Again a great fundraising opportunity.

Mark Davis and Chris Jones put on displays throughout the SW area and again signed up new members.

Well done all
